the combat may be awful but you can usually just run around dudes anyway, and it’s a little better once you find the steel pipe (tm)

the atmosphere/environments/characters are really interesting and the latter are VERY unsettling

so far I love this game (smooches it)

The Amazing Underwater Forest of Lake Kaindy

What makes Lake Kaindy truly remarkable is that it contains an underwater forest. Visible on the lakes surface are the tall, dried-out tops of submerged Spruce trees that rise above the water’s surface like the masts of sunken ships. They are the only sign of the amazing frozen forest below the water’s surface.

The water is so cold (even in summer the temperature does not exceed 6 degrees) that the pine needles remain on the trees, even after a hundred years of being submerged. During the winter, the lake freezes and becomes a popular spot for ice diving.

The lake is 400 meters long and is located in Kazakhstan’s portion of the Tian Shan Mountains, about 129 km from the city of Almaty. The lake was created after an earthquake in 1911 triggered a large landslide blocking the gorge and forming a natural dam.

Day 3 - A game that is underrated.

Pretty much everything I’ve played has been mainstream popular, or recommended on it being the sort of game that sold badly but everybody loved. Or indie games that are well known within their respect niches. And since I don’t want to name anything I haven’t beaten yet…

Let’s go with Silent Hill 4: The Room.Because I sure see a lot of people who like to hate on it, or ignore it as an entry in the series.

Sure, it’s different than SH1-3. Sure, it’s got shitty backtracking (but so do the original Resident Evils), but the fact of the matter is it’s got interesting level design, lots of great characters, and more lore and story to sink your teeth into. It’s easily one of my favourite games, and one of the few games that made me both loathe a character and feel pity for them. Not to mention it’s pretty scary with unkillable ghosts around every corner and some new freakish enemies.

For all its faults, it’s not a bad game. In fact, it’s a way better horror game than a lot of what’s been coming out lately.

it controls like RE4 and it kind of has the spooky feel of the later levels except from the get-go

Oh god no please don’t make me pick. But if I had to, it’d be Raiden from MGS2.

For one, he’s just my type. For two, there’s just so much about him, he’s a really deep character, and I love picking apart all the nuances of characters like him. That and I just find his backstory/personality to be interesting, and how he plays into the overarching plot of the game. It helps too that MGS2 is one of the few games I can play over and over, and enjoy the challenge of a harder difficulty.

I actually couldn’t tell you for sure, since I’ve been honestly been playing games since before I can remember. I know I played a lot of stuff on PC at my Grandpa’s house since he had a really good computer at the time—there was Lemmings and PuttPutt Goes to the Zoo, PuttPutt’s Balloon-o-Rama and…so on.

I also had NiGHTS (which is one of the ones I can’t remember playing, I seriously don’t even remember HAVING the Saturn), BONK and some other games on the TurboGrafx-16. I also had a Gameboy with Kirby and a few sidescrollers. The list goes on and…wow, I really have no idea what was first.

If I had to take a guess it was possibly something I played on my home computer as a kid. I remember some game for kindergartners starring a wiener dog? Beats me.
